The four house rules
One group, one rule. It decides who keeps their spot, how long you get to answer, and what happens when someone drops out. The captain picks it when setting the group up, and can switch later.
Snooze you lose
The classic. You play, your spot is held for next week — one tap to confirm it. Drop out then change your mind: you take it straight back if nobody's grabbed it, front of the queue if someone has.
The Wednesday five-a-side that's been running three years.
Good sport
Same base, lighter touch. More time to answer, a softer penalty when you pull out, and a free pass every month to win your spot back.
Groups where everyone works and plans keep moving.
The Barracks
Tight. Answer fast or the spot's gone. Pull out late, you start again from the back. Don't show up without a word, you sit out a game. And no +1s.
The group that's had enough of ghosts.
Open bar
No hard core. Every week everything goes first come, nobody holds anything, and the call to local players fires on its own when you're short.
The open slot, the crew that changes every week.
What actually changes
These values are read straight from the engine, not retyped — it's exactly what your group runs.
